New Musical Director

Stewarton Winds are delighted to announce that we have appointed Hughina Naylor as our new musical director.

After 7 great years with Alan Friel at the helm, Hughina was the band's guest conductor for our recent summer concerts and we are looking forward to starting with her full time after the summer break.

Hughina has been involved in the musical scene in Scotland for over 30 years, as conductor of the highly acclaimed Motherwell Symphonic band and as principal music teacher at St. Andrews High School, Coatbridge! Among many other things! She is also frequently asked to adjudicate for music festivals, in Scotland and across the UK.

Speaking of her appointment, Hughina said: "I am delighted to accept the position of conductor at Stewarton Winds and I am looking forward to working with you all in the new term."

The band is very much looking forward to moving forward with Hughina and building on the great foundation and community we have developed over the past 7 years.

Please get in touch if you are interested in joining the band, we will be back in rehearsals from September 1st in Stewarton Academy, 7:30pm.
